HAVC recognizes and gives support to another great story through its International Co-production Scheme (i.e. minority co-production funding). HAVC provides funding for fiction, documentary and animation films, both feature length and shorts originating outside Croatia in which a Croatian producer is involved as a creative collaborator and provider of a minority of the finance needed; and where the film is structured as an official co-production.

The movie “M” is a coming of age fantasy drama set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian world of the near future. The pain felt by societies outcasts transforms into a virus of rage and turns humans into beings deprived of consciousness, driven only by instinct for survival. Deep in the forest we find a father and his sun, isolated and fearful of outsiders. The father is paranoid and overprotective so the boy spend more and more time alone in a dreamlike state. After the outside world collides with his, the boy, guided with the only source of information he has left, his picture-book, embarks on a quest to find the Fairy from his story and get her to save and rebuild the world.

Directed by Vardan Tozija, “M” won the main award at AGORA Crossroads Co-production Forum at IFF Thessaloniki. It is produced by Focus Pocus production from Skopje, Macedonia and co-produced by 4 Film LTD from Zagreb, Croatia.
